Chelsea back on top of the EPL

Diego Costa's tenth goal of the season moved Chelsea back to the top of the Premier League as their 6th straight win saw off Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium today.

After an even start of the game, Chelsea increased the heat and deservedly scored before the break when Costa responded fastest to score from a free ball inside the Boro box.

The Blues kept on making shots, Pedro going nearest when he smacked a rising drive against the crossbar.

Boro's most obvious opportunity came when Alvaro Negredo's 78th-minute volley was spared by the Chelsea goal keeper.

It was the only time the home side forced Blues keeper Thibaut Courtois into a great stop.

Chelsea soared Liverpool and Manchester City to go a point clear, while Boro stay one-point clear of the relegation zone in fifteenth place.

Conte masterstroke moves Chelsea back on top

After the arrival of previous Juventus and Italy coach Conte, many anticipated that would see a defensive approach by the Blues.

They were permeable in the opening two months of the season, losing 3-0 at Arsenal on 24 September.

From that point forward, the Blues have been invulnerable in the Premier League.

Conte made a strategic change to a 3-4-3 development for their next match at Hull - and they have won every one of the six matches since without conceding.

Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso have been impactful in their embraced wing-back roles, while Gary Cahill, David Luiz and Cesar Azpilicueta have looked stronged in a back three.

It has turned out to be a masterstroke by Conte. Also, it has helped the Blues move top of the table surprisingly since they were champions in May 2015.

The back-to-back games against Tottenham and Manchester City will be another measure of their late change.

United States sack former Germany soccer player and coach

Former Germany player and soccer coach, Jurgen Klinsmann, has been fired as the coach of the United States men soccer team.

The 52-year-old, Klinsmann, who won the World Cup as a player with Germany in 1990, took over as US coach in the year 2011.

"We remain confident we have quality players to help us advance to Russia 2018," stated by Sunil Gulati, the US Soccer president.

The form and growth of the team have us convinced that we need to go in a different direction.

Klinsmann led the United States to the last 16 at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil after finishing above Portugal and Ghana in their group and just behind Germany.

But, USA has lost 2-1 at home to Mexico and 4-0 away to Costa Rica in their opening two world qualifying matches for the 2018 tournament which might be the reason behind his sacking.

The USA men soccer team remain pointless and bottom of the six-country qualifying group, below Panama, Honduras and Trinidad and Tobago, even though they are only a fifth of the way through the qualifying process.

Gulati also added that with the next qualifying matches coming in late March,  there are several months to redeploy and prepare.

There is, therefore, the need to decide the best way forward to guarantee a successful journey to qualify for our eighth successive World Cup," said by Gulati.

Klinsmann has previously been linked with the England job after big Sam Allardyce left his post in September.

Chelsea end Spurs’ unbeaten run

Chelsea remain top of the EPL table after coming from behind to inflict the first Premier League defeat of the season on Tottenham.

The Blues who were second best in the first half fell behind to Christian Eriksen's superb strike.

However, Pedro matched Eriksen goal with a timely curled equaliser just before halftime.

Victor Moses continued his brilliant recent by scoring the winner from close range after Costa played the ball across the face of the Tottenham’s goal. This goal which happens to be the winning goal leaves Chelsea a point above both Liverpool and Manchester City.

Spurs' miserable record at Stamford Bridge has therefore been extended to 30 games without a win since February 1990.

Ohio State University attacker was 'Somali refugee'

Abdul Razak Ali Artan who injured 11 people, one critically, in a rampage at Ohio State University, was of Somali descent and a student on campus according to US officials.

Abdul Razak Ali Artan,18 years of age, rammed his car into a group of pedestrians at the college before he began stabbing people.  Police shot him dead and has started investigating whether the incident was a terrorist attack. CCTV cameras filmed the suspect, Artan, arriving on campus alone which is an indication he did not have an accomplice helping him during the attack. The FBI has joined the inquiry at the 60,000-student campus in Columbus, Ohio. Artan who studied logistics management in the college of Business at Ohio State was a Somali refugee living in the United States as a legal permanent resident.

The incident began at 10:00 local time on Monday when Artan drove his vehicle over the curb on campus, striking pedestrians near Watts Hall, which happens to be the science and engineering building.

As if that wasn't enough Artan got out of the vehicle and began stabbing bystanders with a "butcher's knife" according to Ohio State Police Chief Craig Stone. A policeman, 28-year-old Alan Horujkowho, nearby shot the attacker dead in less than a minute. Those directly affected by the attack included a mix of academic faculty, maintenance staff, and graduate and undergraduate students of the University.

US President-elect breaks stance with direct Taiwan call

US President-elect Donald Trump had spoken directly with the president of Taiwan, therefore, breaking the US policy set when the formal relationship between the two nations was cut in 1979. The US still maintained friendly non-official relations with Taiwan.

According to Mr. Trump's transition team, President-elect Trump and Tsai Ing-wen noted "close economic, political, and security ties" between the US and Taiwan in the said phone call. A spokesman for the White House National Security Council said Mr. Trump's conversation did not signal any change to long-standing US policy, which is a commitment to the,“One China' policy.” The call risks angering China, which sees Taiwan as a breakaway province.

China has hundreds of missiles pointing towards the island and has threatened to take it by force if necessary. However, Beijing is yet to make public comment on the latest development.

US President-elect Trump "congratulated" Ms. Tsai on becoming the first female president of Taiwan in January's elections after the leading the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) to a landslide victory in the poll. The DPP has traditionally leaned towards independence from China.

Chelsea humiliate Man City at Etihad

Chelsea's eighth consecutive Premier League win cemented their place at the top of the EPL table. However, the victory at Etihad Stadium ended in confusion as Manchester City's saw two of their players, Aguero and Fernandinho sent off in injury time.

Antonio Conte's side sent an impressive statement of intent as they cut City apart after halftime. Chelse went into the break a goal down as a result of Cahill's own goal on the stroke of half-time when he diverted Navas' simple cross beyond keeper Courtois.

The game turned on De Bruyne's 56th-minute miss when City were in control, crashing Navas' cross against the crossbar from inside the six-yard box.

Chelsea were level on the hour when Diego Costa outmuscled Otamendi to score. Chelsea went ahead 10 minutes later when substitute Willian raced clear to beat City keeper Bravo with ease.

Eden Hazard completed the magnificent performance and victory for Chelsea with another classic goal on the counter attack, showing too much pace for Kolarov to wrap up three valuable points for the team.

El Clasico: Barca held at home by Real Madrid

Real Madrid Captain, Ramos, scored a stoppage-time equalizer to extend the team’s unbeaten start to the season and deny Barcelona victory in a bad-tempered El Clasico at Nou Camp.
Suarez's glancing header from Neymar's left-wing free-kick had put Barcelona ahead. However, in a wild ending, Ronaldo went close before Ramos headed home Modric's free-kick to earn a valuable point for Zinedine Zidane's La Liga leaders.
Real Madrid remains six points clear of defending champions Barca after 14 round of matches.

Quata Budukusu Full Biographic as presented by Bakus Records & Entertainment

As a young talent with much vibrancy, rapper and hip-life artiste was the choice of the new hip-life revolution when he emerged on the scene. What set him apart was his tongue twisting style which undoubtedly won him much admiration.

With his debut Wonie album under his belt, the young Quata Budukusu defied the odds to gain national recognition for his art and it is not surprising that he is still regarded as one of the best things to have happened the Hip-life fraternity.

Jacob Kwame Etroo, musically known as Quata Budukusu a.k.a Qtee was born on June 4th, 1981 to Mr. Robert Kojo Etroo and Mrs. Comfort Ama Duku Etroo. He was raised in Cantonment Switch Backroad, Accra. His father hails from Agona Swedru and his mother from Abura Aseebu, all in the Central Region of Ghana. Quata Budukusu has seven (7) sisters and two brothers.

He had his basic education at Airport Police Primary and JSS, Accra, and continued at Aggrey Memorial Senior High School in Cape Coast where he studied Agriculture Science (Animal Husbandry).

But his love for music couldn’t be quenched even after studying Agriculture. That passion spurred him on to chase after his dreams which included studying audio engineering. The evidence of what he studied was later manifested when he established the Audio Farm Recording Studios. The “feat” made him the youngest recording sound producer at the time.

But it wasn't the production of sweet sounds that Quata Budukusu wanted to be known. He released his debut album, Wonie, in 2004. That album was the signature of Hammer of the Last Two, and it will later shoot him to the ladder of fame. He was then under OM studios.
What made his style different was his in-depth in Akan proverbs and adages which featured prominently in his raps. If people had praised the rap skills of Okomfo Kwaadee and a host of others in his league, then it was definitely no match for Quata Budukusu at the time.
That wasn't just his trademark, his tongue twisting style of raps was a thump up.

His "innovation" no doubt brought much competition in the game.

Quata Budukusu’s versatility as an artist makes him the ultimate music tool and a package on its own. He adds a distinct touch of originality to every genre. From his Ghanaian roots in high-life, rap music, hip-life, Afro-pop, he is a gem. When it comes to dance-hall, he is creative with the Patois.

These musical traits made him the most featured artiste who did collaborations with KK Fosu, Tinny, Becca, Mzbel, George Jarah, the Maestro Kojo Antwi, etc.
His second album concert was under Dolphins Production, produced by Dan Grahl with guitar and keyboard work from the famous Kwame Yeboah, which astounded the market and also made a massive impact. The third album (Independence Day) introduced Quata Budukusu’s singing side with the hit singles Baby ft Paa Dogo, Pretty Face ft VIP, Empress and Living the life under Natures Clue Entertainment.

Quata Budukusu is currently signed to Bakus Records and Entertainment after six years break from active music. Over hundred songs recorded for his new release comes in all genres. It is the most versatile masterpiece yet to hit the world. He is currently back from hibernation with a lot of hit songs to include One life to live, which is doing great in South Africa and the world, Wind and Go Low, Ohia, Pumpum Shots, U Too Bad. Quata Budukusu was recently in South Africa where he recorded and shot a video for a song which featured Uhuru Produced by DJ Clap.

In Twi, English and Jamaican Patois, Quata Budukusu brings words to life with his rhymes, rhythms, melodies and tongue-twisting rap skill and deep composition, the one word for Quata Budukusu is MUSIC.

Akufo-Addo third time lucky?

Provisional presidential results based on 216 Constituencies out of 275 puts Nana Akufo-Addo of NPP as the projected winner of Ghana’s elections. According to the multi-media group of companies, Nana Akufo-Addo is leading with 4,526,046 votes representing 53% of valid votes cast while his close contender and the incumbent, President John Dramani Mahama of NDC having 3,856,129 votes representing 45.15%. It is almost statistically impossible for President John Mahama to obtain the 50% plus one required by the Constitution of Ghana to win the presidential ballot. Out of an estimated 10million votes, the winner of the elections will need 5,272,633 votes to be declared the winner.

The presidential candidate of the NPP, Akufo-Addo, has 4,213,710 and need just 1,117,663 votes to cross that mark. On the contrary, the incumbent John Mahama has garnered 3,856,129 votes from 206 constituencies provisionally declared by the multimedia group. With only 69 constituencies left out of the 275, of which 21 are in the NPP stronghold (Ashanti and Eastern regions), the incumbent is unlikely to garner 1,561,931 votes to overturn the result as collated by the group.

Ghana: Akufo-Addo is President-Elect

Berlin truck attack: Tunisian fugitive, Anis Amri, had been under surveillance

The man wanted for the Berlin lorry attack that killed 12 people and injured 49 had been under surveillance earlier this year according to media report.

Anis Amri, 23, was reportedly monitored on suspicion of planning a robbery in order to pay for guns but that surveillance was lifted for lack of evidence.

Prior to entering Germany, Anis Amri had served four years in Italy for arson and also faced a jail sentence in absentia in Tunisia.

The failed asylum seeker is now the subject of a manhunt across Europe for the attack that happened in Berlin, Germany.

An arrest warrant has been issued after his residence permit was found in a car that left a trail of carnage at a Christmas market near the Kurfuerstendamm, on Monday evening.

German authorities have warned he could be armed and therefore dangerous. They are offering a reward of up to €100,000 (£84,000; $104,000) for information leading to the arrest of Anis Amri.

Ghana: 6th Parliament ends! New Speakers, MPs take oath

The life of the sixth Parliament of the 4th Republic has ended. President John Mahama's tenure as president has effectively ended too even though he had an eventful afternoon commissioning another project, the new WAEC hall. It was his last commissioning ceremony. The MPs of the old Parliament are also no more, except those who managed to retain their seats. The new MPs have been sworn into office to begin a new life in Parliament, a new journey in the legislature, one heavily tilted towards the New Patriotic Party majority. New Speaker  Prof Mike Ocquaye was also sworn in.

There was drama in Parliament as Ex-president Rawlings in a conciliatory gesture walks to former Accra Mayor Oko Vanderpuije, now MP, to have a chit-chat or maybe apologize for an earlier stunt which went viral.

Some two days ago, the ex-president in a hey! don't- come-near- me-posture, twice left Alfred Oko Vanderpuije embarrassed as he climbed the staircase to the House of Parliament. Vanderpuije, with his usual long beard attempted a Buddhist bow in reverence to Mr Rawlings but got snubbed in the process. The video went viral.

But tonight the ex-president has reconciled at least with a walk of grace to the man he despised.

US election hacking: Putin 'sought to help' Trump

Russian President Vladimir Putin sought to help Donald Trump win the presidential election, a US intelligence report says.

The unclassified report says the Russian leader "ordered" a campaign aimed at influencing the election.

Moscow has not commented, but Russia has previously denied the claims.

After being briefed on the findings, Mr Trump stopped short of accusing Russia of interfering, saying only that the election outcome was not affected.

The 25-page report says that the Kremlin developed a "clear preference" for Mr Trump.

Russia's goals, the document added, were to "undermine public faith" in the US democratic process and "denigrate" Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, harming her electability and potential presidency.

"We assess Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an influence campaign in 2016 aimed at the US presidential election," it said.

The unclassified version contained no detailed evidence of Mr Putin's alleged role, but it said Russia's actions included:

  • Hacking into the email accounts of the Democratic National Committee and top Democrats;
  • Using intermediaries such as WikiLeaks, DCLeaks.com and Guccifer 2.0 persona to release the information acquired from the hackings;
  • Using state-funded propaganda and paying social media users or "trolls" to make nasty comments

USA: Fort Lauderdale airport shooting; five people shot dead by Florida gunman

Five people have been shot dead by a gunman at Fort Lauderdale airport in Florida, officials say.

It happened at the baggage claim area in Terminal 2, just before 1300 local time (1800 GMT), the airport confirmed.

Eight people were injured. The gunman, believed to be an Iraq war veteran, was taken into custody.

Hundreds of people were standing on the tarmac outside the terminal as dozens of police cars and ambulances rushed to the scene.

Witnesses said the attacker walked along the baggage carousals, shooting people as they tried to run or hide. They said he appeared to be in his 20s, was wearing a Star Wars T-shirt and did not say anything as he fired.

Florida Senator Bill Nelson told US media that the gunman had been identified as Esteban Santiago, but that has not been confirmed by law enforcement.

The suspect surrendered to police when he ran out of ammunition, the witnesses added.

Officials said he was a passenger who had checked in an unloaded gun and ammunition with his luggage, but then loaded it in the bathroom after landing and collecting his bag.

Flying with firearms is legal in the US as long as the guns are kept in a locked, hard-sided container as checked baggage only, under rules of the Transport Security Administration (TSA). Ammunition is allowed only in checked luggage. Are we safe?

Ronaldo beats Messi to win Fifa best player award

Cristiano Ronaldo was named the world's best player at the inaugural Best Fifa Football Awards in Zurich.

Real Madrid and Portugal forward Ronaldo, 31, beat Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann to the prize.

Ronaldo also won the Ballon d'Or in December, with both honours recognition for success in the Champions League with Real and Euro 2016 with Portugal.

Carli Lloyd of the United States was named the world's best female player.

Leicester's Claudio Ranieri was named best men's coach, ex-Germany boss Silvia Neid won the female coach award, while Penang's Mohd Faiz Subri received the Puskas award for the best goal of 2016.

Hold on... haven't we already had the Ballon d'Or?

We have - but this is different.

For the past six years, the world's best player has received the Fifa Ballon d'Or award.

A version of that prize has been awarded by France Football magazine since 1956, but last year world football's governing body ended its association with that honour.

Instead, it introduced the Best Fifa Football Awards, with Ronaldo the first recipient of its main prize.

Voting for the player and coach categories was by national team captains and managers, selected journalists and, for the first time, an online poll of fans.

Each counted for 25% of the points.

2016 was quite the year for Ronaldo.

As well as scoring the decisive penalty in the shootout to win the Champions League, rescuing Real with a hat-trick in the final of the Club World Cup, captaining Portugal to Euro 2016 glory and being recognised with a fourth Ballon d'Or, he now has something Messi does not - the honour of being named best Fifa men's player.

The former Manchester United forward had been the favourite for the award, following a year in which he continued to deliver remarkable statistics. These included:

  • 44 games, 42 goals, 14 assists.
  • The third best minutes-per-goal rate (83.68) of anyone scoring a minimum of 10 goals across Europe's top five leagues during 2016, behind Luis Suarez (82.57) and Radamel Falcao (59.6)
  • Finishing top scorer in the Champions League in 2015-16 with 16 goals, seven more than second-placed Robert Lewandowski.

Fifpro World XI

Despite being on the shortlist for best individual player, Griezmann did not make the best XI.

The line-up features five players from Real Madrid, four from Barcelona, one from Juventus (Dani Alves, who was at Barca for the first half of 2016) and one, Manuel Neuer, from Bayern Munich.

That means no Premier League players were included.

Yahya Jammeh declares state of emergency

Gambian President Yahya Jammeh has declared a 90-day state of emergency a day before his official mandate ends.

He decried "extraordinary" foreign interference in his country's affairs and December's election.

Regional leaders have been unsuccessfully trying to persuade Mr Jammeh to hand over power to Adama Barrow, who won the polls.

The move comes after Nigeria deployed a warship to put further pressure on Mr Jammeh to step down.

Regional bloc Ecowas, the Economic Community of West African States, has prepared a Senegal-led force but maintains that military intervention would be a last resort.

In his televised announcement, Mr Jammeh said "any acts of disobedience to the laws The Gambia, incitement of violence and acts intended to disturb public order and peace" are banned under the state of emergency.

He said security forces were instructed to "maintain absolute peace, law and order".

Earlier, the National Assembly passed a motion condemning what it called the "unlawful and malicious interference" of the African Union and the country's neighbour, Senegal, in The Gambia's affairs.

Ministerial resignations

Mr Barrow, a property developer, is meant to be inaugurated as the new president on Thursday. His spokesperson expressed shock and sadness at the declaration, says the BBC's Umaru Fofana in Banjul, the capital.

It is remains unclear if a curfew is being imposed, our correspondent says.

Mr Jammeh initially accepted the election results but then decided he wanted them annulled after the electoral commission admitted some errors, although it insists this did not affect the final outcome.

The Supreme Court is unable to hear the challenge until May because of a shortage of judges, and Mr Jammeh has said he will not step down until then.

Adama Barrow: From estate agent to president

Gambians flee ahead of 'inauguration'

At least three Gambian ministers, including the foreign minister, have resigned in recent days. Thousands of Gambians have also fled to Senegal, and further afield to Guinea-Bissau, amid fears of violence.

Map of The Gambia

BBC Africa security correspondent Tomi Oladipo says the Nigerian warship is being deployed to put on a show of strength rather than to launch an attack.

A military source says that the vessel - the NNS Unity - is currently sailing off the coast of Ghana.

Senegal is leading Ecowas' standby regional force and is also preparing its ground troops ahead of Thursday's deadline.

The Gambia's small army is not expected to put up a fight in the event of an intervention, but even if it did, its forces would be quickly overrun, our security correspondent says.

In the December polls, Mr Barrow won 43.3% of the vote compared with Mr Jammeh's 39.6%. A third candidate, Mama Kandeh, got 17.1%.

Yahya Jammeh seized power in the tiny West African country in 1994 and has been accused of human rights abuses, although he has held regular elections.

The African Union has said it will no longer recognise Mr Jammeh's authority after his term ends. Mr Barrow is currently in Senegal.

Nigerian jet 'kills at least 50 civilians' in accidental attack

A Nigerian air force jet has accidentally killed and injured many civilians in Rann, in the north-east of the country, the military has said.

International aid agency MSF says at least 50 people were killed and more than 100 injured in the incident.

Aid workers are among the casualties - the Red Cross says six of its workers are confirmed dead.

The attack took place near Nigeria's border with Cameroon where the army has been fighting Boko Haram militants.

Army spokesman Maj-Gen Lucky Irabor said the jet's pilot had mistakenly believed he was attacking insurgents. He said the mission had been ordered, based on intelligence about a gathering of Boko Haram fighters.

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has sent a message expressing his dismay at the loss of life and pleading for calm.

His spokesman said Mr Buhari's administration would offer help to the government of Borno state "in attending to this regrettable operational mistake".

'Shocking and unacceptable'

MSF said many of the casualties were believed to be displaced people who had fled from areas where Boko Haram had carried out attacks.

The charity's director of operations, Jean-Clement Cabrol, said: "This large-scale attack on vulnerable people who have already fled from extreme violence is shocking and unacceptable."

MSF spokesman Etienne l'Hermitte urged the Nigerian authorities to facilitate evacuations of those injured, by land and air.

"Our medical and surgical teams in Cameroon and Chad are ready to treat wounded patients," he said.

"We are in close contact with our teams, who are in shock following the event."

It is the first time an accident of this type has happened in north-east Nigeria and comes as the military carries out what it is calling its final push against Boko Haram.

AFCON 2017: Ghana beat Uganda

Ghana's Andre Ayew surpassed his father's record by scoring the goal that beat Uganda 1-0 in their Group D match at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The West Ham winger slotted in a penalty on 32 minutes after captain Asamoah Gyan had been pulled back.

Ghana also threatened through two Gyan headers, while Ayew and Christian Atsu tested Uganda goalkeeper Denis Onyango.

Uganda came close when Faruku Miya hit the outside of a post but they could not force their way back into the game.

It was a disappointing return for Uganda, who are playing at their first Nations Cup since 1978 when they lost in the final to then-hosts Ghana.

The Cranes created few opportunities of note and struggled against the Black Stars, who were happy to defend their lead.

Ghana were far more positive in the first half, with Andre Ayew, his brother Jordan and Atsu posing a huge problem for the Uganda defence.

Andre Ayew should have scored from a great cut-back by Jordan, while Atsu relentlessly tormented defender Isaac Isinde, whose conceded a penalty by tugging back Gyan after losing control of the ball.

The spot-kick gave Andre Ayew his seventh Nations Cup finals goal - one more than the number scored by his father and legendary former Ghana captain, Abedi Pele. But he remains one African title behind his father, who lifted the trophy in 1982.

Ghana had a good chance to add a second late on when Atsu was clean through but his 12-yard drive was superbly saved by Onyango.

The only downside for Avram Grant's side was an injury to defender Baba Rahman, who was taken off with what looked like a hamstring injury after 39 minutes.

Ghana will next take on Mali on Saturday while Uganda will face record seven-time champions Egypt on the same day.

Nigerians understudied Ghanaian music - Quata

Tongue twisting rapper, Quata has agreed with musician Mr Eazi, who received a lot of backlash for saying that Ghana’s influence on Nigerian music cannot be over emphasised.

According to Quata, some Nigerians have been sampling songs from some of Ghana’s top music producers.

On Wednesday, Mr Eazi tweeted: “Ghana's influence on present day "Naija Sound" cannot be over emphasized!!!”.

This tweet sparked a lot of controversy on social media with insults, mostly from Nigerian subscribers.

Speaking in an interview with Doreen Avio of Joy News, Quata said that Nigerians have been sampling beats from several producers like Appietus, Jay-Q and Hammer.

According to him, Nigerians have been incorporating Ghanaian music into theirs. He also added that Ghana is the apex in Africa and almost everybody took a bit from the country’s music.

“They were sampling tunes from us and were refining what we do to make theirs,” he stressed.

The rapper added that he can say for a fact that Nigerians understudied us and the likes of 2face Idibia came to Ghana secretly to record their songs.

“They only knew [we did] proper - hundred percent - recording in Ghana. That’s why most of their artistes came here secretly to record. The engineers were smart enough to do what we were doing, study it, and adapt the style. They understudied us,” he explained.

Other music artistes like Ghanaian rapper Kojo Cue, M.anifest and others have also agreed with Mr Eazi, who is a Nigerian-born artiste.

The art of tongue twisting of Quata Budukusu is back

Tongue Twisting is truly an art; a reinvention of rap, where words flow in a rhythmic chain, linked musically in a perfect skilled beat. This is the creation of Quata Budukusu: a new and unique style within the hip-hop genre, which honors the traditional hip-life while keeping a sharp and modern beat. Since its creation, “Tongue Twisting” in Ghana has gained track, with other rappers following the lead of –the always innovative– Quata Budukusu.

Besides being the inventor of tongue twisting in Twi (an African language spoken by the Ashanti people – modern day Ghana), Quata Budukusu is considered the fastest rapper in Ghana. He is also a talented songwriter and a versatile artiste capable of delivering compelling performances in a variety of music genres.  He can rap, sing, do dancehall, pop music and much more. As an international artiste from Ghana, Quata Budukusu is fluent in both English and Twi compositions. In fact, he started his musical career by combining English and Ghanaian vibe (Twi) in the hip-hop genre.

Last year, a 35-year-old Budukusu made his expected way back to the stage, signed to Bakus Records and Entertainment, after a six-year period of being away from music. His return is solid as can be. Quata Budukusu is already out with numerous singles which include; “Wind N Go low” and “One Life to Live” produced by Diaz Qlasik, “Pum Pum Shots” produced by Vegas Ace, and “Ohia” produced by King Joe just to mention a few. This is just the beginning as he has over hundred songs recorded for his new album, Quantum Legacy, to be released later this year. He also recorded with Uhuru group from South Africa last year, and he is in the process of releasing both the video and audio for the song titled “Ginger.” Ginger was recorded by DJ Clap in South Africa with the video directed by Director Cube of Kacube Creatives also from South Africa.

In this yet to be released album, a mature Quata Budukusu steers through a variety of music genres, while keeping its roots as a talented African musician and twisting tongue master. Apparently, he is showing that his hibernation period made him grow as an artiste and performant. Without a doubt, his latest job is the most versatile hip-life masterpiece yet to hit the world.

Sarkodie's rap style different from mine - Quata Budukusu

He was responding to a question asked him by award winning entertainment show host, Agyemang Prempeh on Rainbow Radio 87.5 Fm.

Asked to determine who is a better rapper between himself and Sarkodie, Quata Budukusu said, he cannot describe himself as better than Sarkodie or Sarkodie as better them him since they do things differently.

The artiste in 2008 released what entertainment critics described as one of the best tunes in that year. The song Baby featured Paa Dogo.

The artiste is out with a double single, ‘Ginger’ and ‘Hallelujah.'

Quata Budukusu out with second single - Hallelujah!

God has been good for me, my family, friends, fans, and even our enemies and there is the need to glorify His name - Quata Budukusu. Quata Budukusu has shown his versatility in music once again by releasing a gospel-like tune, Hallelujah, after his hot single, Ginger, which featured Uhuru group from South Africa.

Quata Budukusu’s second single for 2017, Hallelujah, was produced by Ephraim Beatz. In Hallelujah, Quata Budukusu is calling on all the living souls to give praise to the creator of the universe. Quata Budukusu maintained that all living souls who made it to the year 2017 should “Join me make we sing and give Him praise” because we don’t deserve better than those that lost their lives in the year 2016 and even years before that. Quata Budukusu gave his testimony in the song because he believes he does not deserve to be here but just by the grace of the Almighty. We are all winners for making it to 2017 regardless of what must have happened in years before the year 2017.

Quata Budukusu called on God to protect and provide us with Angles stronger than “Bruce Lee” since the devil has started roaring in 2017. Take a listen to the song whiles meditating. Remember to pray, give Him the praise and adoration so far as you are still among the living soul.  We are not better than the dead.

Trump sacks defiant attorney general

President Trump fired his acting attorney general on Monday after she defiantly refused to defend his immigration executive order, accusing the Democratic holdover of trying to obstruct his agenda for political reasons.

Taking action in an escalating crisis for his 10-day-old administration, Mr. Trump declared that Sally Q. Yates had “betrayed” the administration, the White House said in a statement.

The president appointed Dana J. Boente, United States attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, to serve as acting attorney general until Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama is confirmed.

Ms. Yates’s decision confronted the president with a stinging challenge to his authority and laid bare a deep divide at the Justice Department, within the diplomatic corps and elsewhere in the government over the wisdom of his order.

“At present, I am not convinced that the defense of the executive order is consistent with these responsibilities, nor am I convinced that the executive order is lawful,” Ms. Yates wrote in a letter to Justice Department lawyers.

The extraordinary legal standoff capped a tumultuous day in which the White House confronted an outpouring of dissent over Mr. Trump’s temporary ban on entry visas for people from seven predominantly Muslim countries. Sean Spicer, the White House press secretary, went so far as to warn State Department officials that they should leave their jobs if they did not agree with Mr. Trump’s agenda, after State Department officials circulated a so-called dissent memo on the order.

“These career bureaucrats have a problem with it?” Mr. Spicer said. “They should either get with the program or they can go.”

Ms. Yates’s decision effectively overruled a finding by the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel, which had already approved the executive order “with respect to form and legality.”

Ms. Yates said her determination in deciding not to defend the order was broader, however, and included questions not only about the order’s lawfulness, but also whether it was a “wise or just” policy. She also alluded to unspecified statements that the White House had made before signing the order, which she factored into her review.

Dana J. Boente, United States attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia

Mr. Trump responded to the letter with a post on Twitter at 7:45 p.m., complaining that the Senate’s delay in confirming his Cabinet nominees had resulted in leaving Ms. Yates in place. “The Democrats are delaying my cabinet picks for purely political reasons,” Mr. Trump said. “They have nothing going but to obstruct. Now have an Obama A.G.”

One of Mr. Trump’s top advisers condemned the decision as an illustration of the politicization of the legal system. “It’s sad that our politics have become so politicized that you have people refusing to enforce our laws,” Stephen Miller, the senior policy adviser, said in a televised interview.

Mr. Trump has the authority to fire Ms. Yates, but as the top Senate-confirmed official at the Justice Department, she is the only one authorized to sign foreign surveillance warrants, an essential function at the department.

“For as long as I am the acting attorney general, the Department of Justice will not present arguments in defense of the executive order, unless and until I become convinced that it is appropriate to do so,” she wrote.

Ms. Yates’s letter transforms the confirmation of Mr. Trump’s attorney general nominee, Mr. Sessions, into a referendum on the immigration order. Action in the Senate could come as early as Tuesday.

The decision by the acting attorney general is a remarkable rebuke by a government official to a sitting president that recalls the dramatic “Saturday Night Massacre” in 1973, when President Richard M. Nixon fired his attorney general and deputy attorney general for refusing to dismiss the special prosecutor in the Watergate case.

That case prompted a constitutional crisis that ended when Robert Bork, the solicitor general, acceded to Mr. Nixon’s order and fired Archibald Cox, the special prosecutor.

Ms. Yates, a career prosecutor, is different because she is a holdover from President Barack Obama’s administration, where she served as deputy attorney general. She agreed to Mr. Trump’s request to stay on as acting attorney general until Mr. Sessions is confirmed to be attorney general.

At the State Department, which is also without a leader, career officials are circulating a dissent memo that argues that closing the borders to more than 200 million people to weed out a handful of would-be terrorists would not make the nation safer and might instead deepen the threat. Mr. Spicer countered that the effects of the ban had been exaggerated and that it would help fulfill Mr. Trump’s vow to protect the country.

Taken together, the developments were a stark confrontation between the new president, who is moving swiftly to upend years of policies, and a federal bureaucracy still struggling with the jolting change of power in Washington. There is open hostility to Mr. Trump’s ideas in large pockets of the government, and deep frustration among those enforcing the visa ban that the White House announced the order without warning or consulting them.

Quebec mosque attack: Student Alexandre Bissonnette charged

Canadian police have charged a French-Canadian student over the fatal shooting of six Muslim worshippers at a mosque in Quebec.

Alexandre Bissonnette faces six counts of first-degree murder and five of attempted murder.

The 27-year-old briefly appeared in a Quebec City court over Sunday evening's attack, during evening prayers at the Quebec Islamic Cultural Centre.

Vigils have been held across Canada to commemorate those killed and injured.

More than 50 people were at the mosque when the shooting erupted just before 20:00 on Sunday.

Nineteen people were wounded - all men - and of five people still in hospital, two were in a critical condition.

A man of Moroccan heritage who was also arrested after the attack, Mohamed Khadir, is now being treated as a witness.

Quebec provincial police have released the names of all six victims who were killed:

  • Father-of-three Azzeddine Soufiane, 57, a grocer and butcher
  • Khaled Belkacemi, 60, a professor in the food science department at Laval University
  • Father-of-three, Abdelkrim Hassen, 41, an IT worker for the government
  • Aboubaker Thabti, 44, and two Guinean nationals, Mamadou Tanou Barry, 42, and Ibrahima Barry, 39

Mr Bissonnette did not enter a plea as he appeared in court on Monday, wearing a white prison-issue jump suit, his hands and feet shackled.

The suspect was arrested in his car on a bridge leading from Quebec City to Ile d'Orleans, where he called police to say he wanted to cooperate with the authorities.

According to local media, Mr Bissonnette studied political science and anthropology at Laval University, whose campus is about 3km (two miles) away from the mosque.

The Montreal Gazette reports that the suspect dressed up as the Grim Reaper for Halloween, according to his Facebook page, which has now been taken offline.

On the social network, he also reportedly "liked" US President Donald Trump and French National Front leader Marine Le Pen.

Francois Deschamps, an official with an advocacy group, Welcome to Refugees, said the suspect was known for his far-right views.

"It's with pain and anger that we learn the identity of terrorist Alexandre Bissonnette, unfortunately known to many activists in Quebec for taking nationalist, pro-Le Pen and anti-feminist positions at Laval University and on social media," Mr Deschamps wrote on organisation's Facebook page.

At the scene - Jessica Murphy, BBC News

The streets around the mosque are mostly deserted except for the police investigators milling around the cordoned-off site.

Noemie Roussel Paradis is standing alone across from the empty mosque holding a Koran. She is a proud convert to Islam and came to pay her respects after "this murder, this attack, this act of terrorism", even though this was not the mosque where she prays.

"This is Allah's home, and there was blood spilled on the floor," she said.

She said it's likely that she shared a Ramadan meal with one of the people who was in the mosque during the attack. "The only thing we can do now is cry and hope that Allah will make those responsible face their actions," she said.

Nearby, Martin St-Louis is holding a large wooden board, its painted message carrying a call for peace.

"Where terror stands or walks, peace must stand," he said. "I'm no philosopher or priest, but for those people who fall, we have to stand."

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Quebec Premier Philippe Couillard both described the shooting as a terrorist attack.

Addressing the more than one million Muslims who live in Canada, Mr Trudeau said: "We are with you.

"Thirty-six million hearts are breaking with yours. Know that we value you."

The shooting came amid heightened global tensions over Mr Trump's travel ban on seven Muslim countries.

But the White House, which condemned the attack, said it was also an example of why the US president's policies were needed.

White House spokesman Sean Spicer said: "It's a terrible reminder of why we must remain vigilant and why the president is taking steps to be pro-active, rather than reactive when it comes to our nation's safety and security."

The mosque has been a target of hate crimes in the past, including last summer when a pig's head was left on its doorstep during Ramadan.

Mohamed Labidi, vice-president of the Islamic centre, said the victims had been shot in the back.

"Security at our mosque was our major, major concern," Mr Labidi said tearfully. "But we were caught off-guard."

The predominantly French-speaking province of Quebec has welcomed thousands of immigrants from Arab countries and other nations.

But there has been a longstanding debate over the "reasonable accommodation" of immigrants and religious minorities.

Brexit: MPs to begin formal process with two-day debate

MPs are to begin two days of debate over the government's parliamentary bill to get the formal process of Brexit under way.

Discussions on the European Union Bill have been extended to midnight on Tuesday to accommodate more speakers, with a vote to take place on Wednesday.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has ordered his MPs to vote with the government, but some are expected to defy him.

Ministers want to get the bill passed in time to trigger Brexit by 31 March.

The European Union (Notification of Withdrawal) Bill would allow Prime Minister Theresa May to invoke Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, getting official talks between the UK and the EU started.

The Liberal Democrats and Scottish National Party are to vote against it, but Labour's leadership is backing it, meaning the government is expected to win.

The size of the Labour rebellion will be closely scrutinised, with several of his MPs indicating they plan to defy Mr Corbyn.

Two shadow ministers have quit, saying they want to vote against it.

Former Conservative Chancellor Ken Clarke has also said he will vote against the bill.

If the vote goes the government's way, the bill will return to the Commons next week for the committee stage when opposition parties will try to push through a series of amendments.

Speaking in Dublin on Monday, Mrs May said MPs would face a very clear choice when they came to vote on the bill.

"The people of the United Kingdom voted on June 23 last year. They voted in a referendum that was given to them overwhelmingly by Parliament," she said.

"The people spoke in that vote. The majority voted to leave the European Union. I think it is now the job of the Government to put that into practice. I hope that when people come to look at the Article 50 Bill they will recognise it is a very simple decision: do they support the will of the British people or not?"

The bill was published last week, after the Supreme Court decided Parliament must have a say.

The government had argued that this was not necessary, and that Mrs May had the power to get Brexit started without consulting MPs and peers.

But in his judgement, Supreme Court President Lord Neuberger said: "By a majority of eight to three, the Supreme Court today rules that the government cannot trigger Article 50 without an act of Parliament authorising it to do so.

"Withdrawal effects a fundamental change by cutting off the source of EU law, as well as changing legal rights. The UK's constitutional arrangements require such changes to be clearly authorised by Parliament."

Guy Verhofstadt, the EU parliament's Brexit negotiator, told the BBC's Newsnight programme that Mrs May would not be allowed to "pick and choose" those benefits of EU membership she might want the UK to retain.

"We need a fair partnership," he said. "You cannot create a status for countries outside the European Union where it is even more favourable than for the countries that are members. No taxpayer in Europe will accept such an outcome."

But he said Europe needed to be "generous" not just to the UK as a country, but, in his opinion, to those UK citizens who wanted to remain in Europe.

"Maybe some advantages of the European Union could be kept for those people in the UK who want to have them in the future and that is a generous offer, I think."

Iysman releases Bra Fie

Under his new label New Hitz Gh (NHG) Rekordz, Iysman releases this highlife joint titled Bra Fie (meaning return home). This piece of indigenous music sees Iysman combining rap and singing which is very unusual. He does this love tune for people who are missing their partners far away. Iysman mentions that the loneliness alone ain’t problem but the ridicule it comes with is what’s killing. This masterpiece will surely go down well with the old and young, looking at the selection of lyrics, beat, and more to the point how gently and logically he establishes his ideas and goes about the delivery. It’s a must download song by all standards.

The village aiming to create a white utopia

A village in Hungary has banned the wearing of Muslim dress and the call to prayer. By leading what it calls "the war against Muslim culture", it hopes to attract other Christian Europeans who object to multiculturalism in their own countries.

"We primarily welcome people from western Europe - people who wouldn't like to live in a multicultural society," Laszlo Toroczkai tells the BBC's Victoria Derbyshire programme. "We wouldn't like to attract Muslims to the village." This is a village where Muslims and gays are unwelcome.

Mr Toroczkai is mayor of Asotthalom, a remote village in the southern Hungarian plains, situated around two hours from the capital Budapest.

"It's very important for the village to preserve its traditions. If large numbers of Muslims arrived here, they would not be able to integrate into the Christian community.

"We can see large Muslim communities in western Europe that haven't been able to integrate - and we don't want to have the same experience here," he says. "I'd like Europe to belong to Europeans, Asia to belong to Asians and Africa to belong to Africans. Simple as that."

The refugee crisis has contributed to a rise in anti-immigrant sentiment across large parts of Europe and Hungary is no exception.

At the height of the migrant crisis, as many as 10,000 people crossed the border - just minutes from Asotthalom - from Serbia into Hungary each day.

The mayor has capitalised on the anxiety about such an influx and introduced by-laws of questionable legality.

The new local legislation bans the wearing of Muslim dress like the hijab and the call to prayer and also outlaws public displays of affection by gay people. Changes are also being brought in to prevent the building of mosques, despite there being only two Muslims living there currently.

Many lawyers think the laws contravene the Hungarian constitution and, as part of a general review of new local legislation, the government will rule on them in mid-February.

The laws, however, have support among many members of the community.

One resident, Eniko Undreiner, said it was "really scary" to see "masses of migrants walking through the village" last year as they crossed into the country.

"I spend a lot of time at home alone with my young kids - yes, there were times when I was scared," she says.

The two Muslims living in the village did not want to speak to the BBC for fear of attracting attention to themselves.

However, one member of the village said they were "fully integrated" within the community.

"They don't provoke anyone. They don't wear the niqab, they don't harass people... I know them personally. We get on just fine."

The mayor hopes the village can be at the forefront of what he calls "the war against Muslim culture".

He has employed round-the-clock border patrols, which he thinks will attract white Europeans to live there.

The Knights Templar International has been advertising homes in Asotthalom on its Facebook page.

Its members include Nick Griffin, former leader of the British National Party, and the party's former treasurer Jim Dowson.

"I have been contacted by Jim Dowson," Mr Toroczkai explains. "He came to Asotthalom a few times as a private individual, just to have a look. Nick Griffin also came with him."

Mr Griffin has previously described Hungary as "a place to get away from the hell that is about to break loose in western Europe".

"When it all goes terribly wrong in the West, more will move to Hungary and Hungary needs those people."

We have asked Knights Templar International and Nick Griffin for an interview, but neither responded.

Mr Toroczkai says he would be happy to welcome people from England.

Asked if he is trying to establish a white supremacist village, Mr Toroczkai replies: "I didn't use the word white. But because we are a white, European, Christian population, we want to stay [like] this.

"If we were black we'd want to stay a black village.

"But this is a fact and we want to preserve this fact."

Noncitizen in Texas Sentenced to 8 Years for Illegal Voting

A Texas woman was sentenced Thursday to eight years in prison for illegal voting, The Dallas Morning News reported. A Tarrant County jury found Rosa Maria Ortega guilty of voting in the November 2012 general election and the May 2014 Republican primary runoff in Dallas County “when she knew she was not a United States citizen.” Ortega, 37, was arrested in 2015. She is a legal U.S. resident, but is not a citizen and therefore, not qualified to vote.

'So Profoundly Wrong': Judge Nap Slams Court's Ruling on Immigration Order

Trump Tweets Reply to Immigration Order Ruling: 'See You in Court'

She testified that at the time she voted she did not understand the differences between the rights granted to a citizen and a legal resident.

"If I knew, everything would have been done the correct way," Ortega testified. "All my life I was taught I was a U.S. citizen."

Attorneys for the state showed the jury that she checked a box on her driver's license form indicating she was not a citizen, despite her testimony to the contrary.

Ortega was sentenced to eight years and a $5,000 fine on each count.

Robert Harward turns down Trump's national security adviser offer

US President Donald Trump's choice for national security adviser has turned down the job offer.

Retired Vice-Admiral Robert Harward was widely tipped for the post after Mr. Trump fired Michael Flynn on Monday.

A White House official said Mr. Harward cited family and financial commitments, but US media said the sticking point was he wanted to bring in his own team.

Mr. Flynn had misled US Vice-President Mike Pence over his conversations with Russia's ambassador to the US.

The latest setback emerged hours after Mr. Trump robustly denied media reports of White House disarray, insisting in a news conference that his administration was running like a "fine-tuned machine".

The White House is expected to name its new communications director on Friday, and US media say the job will go to Mike Dubke, the founder of Republican media group Crossroads Media.

Mr. Harward told the Associated Press the Trump administration was "very accommodating to my needs, both professionally and personally".

"It's purely a personal issue," added the 60-year-old former Navy Seal who is currently based in Abu Dhabi as an executive for US defense contractor Lockheed Martin.

Asked about reports that he had asked to bring in his own staff at the National Security Council, Mr. Harward said: "I think that's for the president to address."

Mr. Flynn, a retired army lieutenant-general, was ousted amid claims that before he was even appointed as national security adviser he had discussed sanctions with a Russian envoy.

This would have potentially breached a law banning private citizens from engaging in diplomacy.

Mr. Flynn initially denied having discussed sanctions with Sergei Kislyak, Moscow's ambassador to Washington.

But on Monday, Mr. Trump asked for his resignation following revelations that Mr. Flynn had misled the vice-president about his conversations with the diplomat.

Leading Republicans have called for an investigation into intelligence leaks that led to Mr. Flynn's resignation.

Amend Ghana’s laws to ban homosexuality – Oquaye

The Speaker of Parliament Professor Mike Oquaye has called for the amendment of Ghana’s laws to completely ban homosexuality and make it illegal.

According to the Speaker, who doubles as a pastor, the despicable act is against the country’s culture and cannot be accepted.

Speaking during a courtesy call by the Royal House Chapel led by its founder Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah, Prof. Oquaye said existing legislations are not clear of the illegality of the practice.

“It is unfortunate that people have become so liberal that they will want to liberalize Christianity…even priests are approving of homosexuality and allowing a man and a man [to] marry, a woman and a woman [to] marry and these are manifest abominations.

“I trust that with your kind of insistence, the Parliament of Ghana…will find its way clear in strengthening the laws to ban homosexuality as they exist. As for this, may God forbid that it becomes a Ghanaian culture,” Prof. Oquaye said.

Ghana’s laws are silent on homosexuality, but persons found to be engaging in such acts are mostly attacked and brutally assaulted.

Most African countries also frown on the act and in some countries, people suspected to be homosexuals are jailed or killed.

Trump administration widens net for immigrant deportation

The Trump administration has issued tough guidelines to widen the net for deporting illegal immigrants from the US, and speed up their removal.

Undocumented immigrants arrested for traffic violations or shop-lifting will be targeted along with those convicted of more serious crimes.

The memos do not alter US immigration laws but take a much tougher approach towards enforcing existing measures.

There are an estimated 11 million illegal immigrants in the US.

Five questions ahead of new US travel ban

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said on Tuesday the new guidelines would not usher in mass deportations but were designed to empower agents to enforce laws already on the books.

"The president wanted to take the shackles off individuals in these agencies," Mr. Spicer said.

"The message from this White House and the Department of Homeland Security is that those people who are in this country, who pose a threat to our safety, or who have committed a crime, will be the first to go."

What's changed from the Obama era?

The Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) new blueprint leaves in place Obama-era protections for immigrants who entered the US illegally as children, affecting about 750,000 young people known as Dreamers.

But it expands the more restricted guidance issued under the previous administration, which focused its policy on immigrants convicted of serious crimes, threats to national security or those who had recently crossed the border.

Donald Trump's immigration order marks a sharp break with those Obama-era policies. Instead - according to the Department of Homeland Security implementation memos - the Trump administration essentially will "prioritize" the deportation of almost all undocumented immigrants, everywhere.

The Homeland Security Department's list of prioritized "removable aliens" is so broad as to include just about every class of undocumented immigrant - with only a carve-out for individuals who entered the US as children.

All this will require more money and manpower - and the Trump administration is going to ask Congress for the former and go on a hiring spree to address the latter. Local and state law-enforcement officials will also be allowed to arrest unauthorized immigrants.

While Mr. Obama aggressively enforced immigration law and ramped up deportations in some areas and at some times, there were notable instances where he de-emphasised action. In the Trump era, immigration authorities are now being given the power to make a sea-to-sea, border-to-border push.

What's in the new orders?

The two memos released on Tuesday by the agency also allow Border Patrol and Immigration and Customs Enforcement to deport people immediately.

During Mr. Obama's presidency, expedited removals were applied to people who had been in the country for no more than 14 days and were within 100 miles of the border.

Under the new guidance, agents can expedite deportations for undocumented immigrants who are unable to prove they have been in the country for more than two years, located anywhere in the US.

Some of the new priorities include:

  • Expanding deportations to undocumented immigrants who have been charged with a crime, misrepresented themselves, pose a risk to public safety, or "have abused any program related to receipt of public benefits" - effectively allowing agents to arrest any illegal immigrant they encounter
  • Ending US policy to release those caught on the border and instead placing them into detention centers until their cases are resolved
  • Calling for authorities to prosecute parents who help smuggle their children into the country
  • Allowing plans to begin on an expansion of the border wall along the US southern border

The DHS plans to hire an extra 10,000 agents for Immigration and Customs Enforcement and 5,000 more border patrol officers to enforce the new guidance.

Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly wrote in one of the memos: "The surge of illegal immigration at the southern border has overwhelmed federal agencies and resources and has created a significant national security vulnerability to the United States."

Mr. Kelly's memo also includes instructions to enforce an existing provision of the US Immigration and Nationality Act that allows authorities to send some people caught illegally at the border back to Mexico, regardless of where they are from. It is unclear whether the US has authority to force Mexico to accept foreigners.

Where's this guidance come from?

It is a blueprint to implement executive orders that Mr. Trump signed on 25 January, days after taking office.

The new guidelines did not explain how Mr. Trump's border wall would be funded and where undocumented immigrants apprehended in the crackdown would be detained.

The memos instruct agents to use "all available resources to expand their detention capabilities and capacities," but Congress would probably need to allocate money to build new detention centers.
